The Classic Montessori Bookshelf

This is how you raise a bookworm. Kids choose their favorite stories themselves when they can see and reach their own books, supporting their curiosity and independence and encouraging reading over screen time.

Our Large Montessori Bookshelf is a forward-facing, five-tier book display ready for everyday use in your child’s bedroom, playroom, or even the living room. The wide frame features open, accessible shelves to hold books face-forward so kids can see, choose, and return them independently.

All our products are made from locally sourced hardwood, hand crafted by parents like you in our Kansas City workshop, and coated with a non-toxic, child-safe finish.

We make our bookshelves in small batches because we make them ourselves. That means your piece gets actual care and attention, not just shipped in from an overseas factory.

• Locally sourced premium hardwoods: We never use MDF, synthetic materials, or low quality wood
• Anti-tip wall anchor included: Safety isn't an afterthought, it's built into the design
• Non-toxic finish, child-safe from day one: Our Clear Coat finish shows off the natural woodgrain of the birch, or choose our Raw (paint-ready) option to customize with any paint or stain you like
• 31.5"W x 14"D x 30"H: Generous enough to hold a library, sized just right for young readers and maintains a small footprint in your home

This product ships as a flat pack and requires assembly (est. 20 minute assembly). Includes all hardware and assembly instructions.

Small-batch production means limited availability. Our current lead time is 1-2 weeks. Made with care, by hand, to be used and loved daily.
